This leprechaun craft is just adorable and easy for kids to make! It makes a fun St. Patrick’s Day paper craft and is a great activity to help kids with their scissor skills.
Kids can also choose to use different colors than our example if they like. A rainbow beard would be fun! Or use part of the template to color and make a colorful rainbow hat for the leprechaun.

Instructions to make your St. Patrick’s Day craft
1. Print out your template onto white cardstock and cut out all of the pieces. Younger kids might need some help with this step.
Use the template as a guide to trace all of the pieces with a pencil onto the different colored cardstock.
2. Use the large circle template to trace and cut out the face using skin-colored paper. To make the hat pieces, use green paper for the large rectangle and longer rectangle shapes.
Use the smallest rectangle and the small square to trace and cut out the hat decoration pieces out of brown paper and the bigger square out of gold paper to finish off the pieces.
3. Glue the smaller green rectangle to the larger green rectangle to make the hat.
Make the hat belt by gluing the gold square in the center of the long brown rectangle and glue the smaller brown square in the middle of the gold paper to finish it off. Glue the belt to the hat.
4. To make the leprechaun’s hair, cut another rectangle strip out of orange paper and cut small strips across the rectangle for the hair. This is a great way for kids to practice their scissor skills!
Glue the hat and hair to the leprechaun’s face using a glue stick.
5. Next, cut out the “lucky” letters out of orange paper and glue them to the leprechaun’s chin to make the beard. Younger kids might need help with cutting out the letters.
Glue on the “C” letter first in the middle of the chin to help keep the beard centered.
6. Glue on googly eyes and a pink pom pom for the eyes and nose. Using white glue will help the pom pom stick to the paper better.
Finish off the face by drawing in a smile with a black sharpie.
Kids will have fun cutting and gluing their leprechaun together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
