Supplies
- White cardstock
- Scissors
- Q-tips
- Acrylic paint
- Watercolor paint (optional)
- Paintbrushes
- Paint palette & water dish
Instructions for your Easter egg painting
1. Print out your Easter egg template onto white cardstock. There are three different size options of Easter egg templates in the printable library. I used the medium sized ones for this project.
You can either cut the egg shapes out first or wait until the painting is done and then cut it out.
2. Get your paints ready in a paint palette, you will need one q-tip per color. You can leave your templates white, or paint them first with a watercolor wash.
I painted some and left some white, they both looked great! If you are painting the templates with watercolors first, you want to use a light color so the designs will show up.
Let the paper dry before starting to paint with q-tips.
3. Dip a q-tip in a paint color and begin to dot on a design. Younger kids can keep the design simple, while older kids might want to create a more intricate pattern.
Kids can do a random dot pattern or different types of lines and zigzags. I made some patterns with flowers and I love how they turned out!
4. Let your egg painting dry completely before cutting it out.
I love how bright and colorful these Easter egg paintings turned out. Kids will want to make more than one!
