EASY WATERCOLOR RESIST DIY SNOWFLAKE ORNAMENTS

Make easy DIY snowflake ornaments using watercolors and oil pastels. A fun Christmas and winter craft kids of all ages will enjoy!

MATERIALS – White oil pastel or white crayon – Cardboard – Watercolor paint – String or ribbon

TOOLS – Paintbrush & water dish – Scissors – Hole punch – A pencil and large plastic lids or jars to use as circle templates

INSTRUCTIONS 1. Start by cutting circles out of cardboard. Using large plastic lids or jars as templates will help to make this step easier for kids.

2. Use a white oil pastel or a white crayon to draw snowflake patterns on the cardboard circles.

3. Paint the circles with watercolors in shades of blue, purple, and pink or any colors you like. As you paint, the oil pastel acts as a resist, and the snowflake design will appear.

4. Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the top of the snowflakes, loop a string or ribbon through the hole and tie a knot to finish the ornament off.
